What does AI for humanitarian action, organizational inertia, and sustainable forest investment have in common?

These are the challenges that our student teams at University of Lausanne – UNIL will tackle in my Digital Innovation and Design Thinking course. Three quite different challenges, yet all requiring human-centered innovation and creative problem-solving.

Last week, we kicked off the projects with Alexander Finger from SAP, Tim Duehrkoop from Xilva, and Moises Maldonado, Rebeca Moreno Jiménez and Sofia Kyriazi from UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency presenting their real-world challenges. A huge thank you to each of you for bringing the big questions to the table. Now, the hard work – and hopefully some fun – begins!
