From Information-Seeking to Information-Asking

Our new research paper is out.

“From Information-Seeking to Information-Asking: Designing RefuGPT, a Chatbot for Ukrainian Refugees in Switzerland” explores how large language models can transform how displaced communities access vital information, shifting from traditional information-seeking to conversational information-asking.

This work contributes to the ongoing discussion about how AI is changing the way we interact with knowledge, particularly in high-stakes, real-world contexts like refugee resettlement.

We propose the design of RefuGPT, a multi-layered chatbot that combines official and community-based information to support Ukrainian refugees in navigating Swiss bureaucracy.
